The findings are presented in a clear, easy-to-follow building report with photographs and practical recommendations. Our reports are designed to meet the needs of major banks and insurers, and we offer ongoing support after the inspection so you can ask questions, clarify the findings and make your decision with a better understanding of the property.

Frequently Asked Questions

Our building reports will point out any significant issues and provide expert advice on the property, covering everything accessible from the ground up, including hardscaping, moisture testing, pest prevention, electrical, plumbing and everything else you would expect in a building report, foundations, joinery, cladding, insulation, roof, ceiling cavity, subfloor, outbuildings etc. Our healthy home reports will cover everything in the standard and will advise on anything that needs to be rectified.
A building report will generally take around 2-3 and a half hours, depending on the size of the building and property. This allows the inspector enough time to gather relevant information off a visual inspection and compile a detailed report for you.
We are a Licensed Building Practitioner and all of our inspectors are experienced and hold relevant recognised trade qualifications. Some may not be aware, but to inspect residential property in New Zealand, you do not require any qualifications but your inspections must comply with the NZS 4306:2005 Residential Property Inspection Standard.
The short answer is yes. Buying a house is a huge financial commitment, especially for first-home buyers. A building report can help you make an informed decision by evaluating the overall concern of specific elements of the property and, in turn, allowing you to see any areas that may need attention or could be costly in the future if left unresolved.
Based in Christchurch City, we service central Canterbury ranging from lower Selwyn up to lower Hurunui. Get in contact if you require us outside of our service area; this can be organised but may incur extra costs.
The number of bedrooms in the home will determine how much our building reports cost, but they start at $450 (GST included).
